I can't delete my own topics anymore? mods.. whats going on?

    well i cant delete my own post! :/

    i tryd it 1ce n sed the server wasnt responding, so i refreshd the page and wrote it all agen and posted it. then i found out i had 2 the same.. so i did wot it sed to delete ma post and sed i dont have permision :confused:

    I cant neither...just made myself look a right plank in Politic forum and it wouldnt let me delete my post :eek2:

    yes, can edit but not delete.....but I wanted to delete cos i made myself look like a right prat :lol:

    Is that so when people make unsuitable threads you have the evidence ? but nah that wont work cos they can make the threads but then just edit them :confused:

    Yep but you'd still have some evidence of something being posted. It's a balancing act, we just felt that removing the edit option would make things difficult (fixing images, correcting spelling, etc) for posters.

    We've had a succession of trolls and losers making posts, then deleting them straight away. Stargalaxy has done it a few times, he's dragged old posts up then he's deleted them to make someone else look bad, and we've had trolls abusiong JsT and others then deleting the evidence.

    Still, it means that if Hellfire starts a thread he can't delete it when everyone calls him a nob.

    Yes, I will admit that I have been guilty of this on two occasions. The first was when I deleted a post when I discovered I brought something back from the dead. The second was when I deleted my own thread about what to do for university. The reason I deleted this was because I thought the thread was pointless and wasn't going anywhere. I'm sorry if I've caused any inconvenience or troubles for everyone for this. I will not do it again.

    Only time I've deleted posts is when I've made a duplicate by an accident or when I make 'FAO...' to remind people their inbox is full. Once they are warned I delete them.

    There may be an easier way, but I searched for BeckyBoo's posts (there's a search button at the bottom of every post) and copied the url of the correct post from there.
