Student account / loan problem

Basically, I'm doing a one year foundation course at an independant art school which isn't government funded. I wanted to take advantage of the Natwest student scheme, but it's only applicable if you're doing a course for two years or longer.

Realistically, I won't be able to afford this without a loan and it would be nice to have the overdraft facilities of a student account. Does anyone know of any banks which could help with my situation?

If you can open a student account you may be able to persuade your bank to be more flexible with your overdraft etc... given your situation. You could also be eligable for a career development loan, and there may be bursaries at your art school. Your tutor/ department at the art school should be able to advise you on your options as no doubt it is a common worry.
