Ok i slightly embaressing problem here. Lets say that one was partaking in observing 'choice' websites last night. I loaded up mmy internet this morning to find that a 'choice' site had made itself my home page. No big problem, just reset the homepage. I have just noticed the thing in the attachment, and i want to know how to get rid. I have no worries about family or anything seeing it because its on my own laptop and its passworded. But yes, i would like to get rid the circled item.

Any help would be appreciated

Please keep mocking and japes to a minimum :nervous:

add / remove programs? your best bet will probably be ad-aware or similar ad-ware removing software.

    Can I just say, pwned?

If you haven't got Spybot S&D, download it and run a check. It should get rid of the majority of spyware/adware and stuff.

If that doesn't work, try searching your system for all files including the words XXX? or porn? and delete the results.

Hope you fix it... But let's be honest, it'll be funny if you can't. ;o

Everybody gets done by one of those damn things at least once. One careless click of the mouse, and the damned thing's installed.

    Look in the add/remove programs.

Try AdAware, and Spybot Search And Destroy.

Visit the sites homepage, they may tell you how to uninstall it, or have an uninstaller you can use. If not, then they're xxxx xxxxxxxx xxxx xxxxx xxxx (blanked myself because I consider them scum if they don't help you).

Yeh run Ad-Aware first, then Spybot after, it should kill it...

My advice on avoiding that kinda thing is to A) get a good pop-up stopper (my prefered choice is the pop-up stopper by panicware), and B) in spybot s&d, click on the "immunise" button and it stops that kinda thing from happening again!

    hehe happy surfin!

Lucky for you, the IT guru is here  right this is how to get rid of that toolbar entry:

    download this Hijack This from:

    http://www.download.com/HijackThis/3000-8022-10227352.html?tag=lst-0-5

    or

    http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/hijackthis.zip

    Now heres the instructions:

Run the program (it doesnt need an install) and click scan

Look carefully through the results and you should see soumething similar to:

    O8 - Extra context menu item: >>> FREE PORN GALLERIES <<< - javascript:{document.location='http://s-exmaxx.com/freegalleries.htm';}

check this box and click on "fix checked" and there you go, all sorted!! :D

oh and by the way, do NOT delete anything other than the "free galleries" selection, or u might loose sumthin nice and it'll piss you off bigtime.

Its easy as pie! happy surfin dude!

Damn right. Steer clear. Since making the switch to Mozilla in 2002, I've not had a single piece of spyware or virus.

On IE, spyware is like bird sh!t. It drops outta nowhere!
