    on farms people use it for animal beds. it's warm, and it's quite cheap.

    you can also use it for small animals, but it has a nasty habit of poking them in the eyes.

    and foreign people like to make donkeys out of it :)

    It's part of the plant that's not needed. It can be used to feed animals. Or for bedding and stuff.

    Farmers store it the summer so they can feed it to the animals in Winter.
