Yes we have fucked up, but it was necessary in order to develop our technology. without the industrial revolution we'd still all be living in squalor and would never get past being peasants. We needed to use resources in order to develop sufficiently to a point where we can create resources from scratch.
Yes Moony, the great white is physically superior to us in some ways, but it's still stupid. By your reckoning the elephant should be master of the planet, or the gorillas. They are strong and have reasonable cognitive skill. But they are still stupid in comparison to us.
If nature intended for us to be masters of the planet without technology it wouldn't have given us unusually large brains and opposable thumbs.

Certainly no people should be called savages because of inferior tech, probably a better reason would be there moral standards etc.
I am sure the tribes of the Amazon are lovely etc but i doubt very much that many western people would ever want to live amongst them even if they were willing to adapt to the hardships etc. What if the tribe had no democracy, no womens rights, made war on other tribes wantonly, killed any disabled children at birth etc? Not so good then really.
One of the benefits of our technology is it allows us to be more moral, look after the sick, help the poor etc.......
No they wouldn't nor do those tribes want their presence which up to now has been mostly genocidal, gold-miners, loggers, adventurers, deliberate infection with diseases they have no immunity to.
as to their primitive ways, I'm sure even killing any disabled children at birth makes perfect sense in such an enviroment, who are we to judge?
Animals don't have technology because they've never evolved the intellectual means to produce it!!

Yeah we have a lot of grey matter and opposable thumbs, but you're still missing the point. We are resourceful as a race and posess cognitive thinking, but then a lot of our thoughts, feelings and emotions, minus cognitive and aesthetical thoughts/needs can be brought back down to psychology and thus applied to the animal kingdom.
But then that's life. Compared to our society and based on our own socialisation and norms and values that is disgusting, but compared to theirs it's normal.
A lot of these tribes, or the ones I've seen and read about are fairly egalitarian, they live peacefully. I mean you can't compare them to pictures drawn in the nineteenth centuary by settlers that you find in history text books.
Besides, some middle eastern countries have poor human rights records. Are they savages too?

Now where did I say I hate technology? Whilst primitivists, in my eyes have some interesting points to share, I wouldn't go so far as to say that everybody should live in mudhuts and hunt deer. And why? Because the communication side has benefitted us no end. Please read people's posts before you make judgements like that instead of putting words in their mouth.
