With all this talk about the US wanting to put their defence missiles in Poland the Czech republicand now the UK, and the Russians opposed to it, what do you guys think?

UK in talks over "Son of Star Wars"

I've listened to an interview with a Russian General who said that the Russians already have systems to shoot down any weapons that the US have now or will have in the future.
It's interesting, the whole war of words going on, and I bet behind the scenes the russians and the americans are actually working on it together....

Anyway, would you like a US defence system on UK soil?

    No, the whole escapade is pointless. Noones going to fire missles at the United States. Why put a base in Europe anyway? Are they expecting those Russian commie pinkos to do something?

    The only thing this useless system will achieve will be to cause a new arms race. The Russians have already developed an ICBM that is immune to any such system. Don't think the Chinese will be left behind.

    Oh there is another thing this thing will achieve: make Britain a prime target for any attack on the US, as the very first thing a would-be attacker would do is to eliminate the radar and monitoring stations.

    But no matter: an attack on British soil would be small price to pay for that glorious 'special relationship' of ours... :rolleyes:
