Core 2 Duo

Anyone got one?

Anything about them that's worth paying double the price of a Pentium D?

Thinking about building a new PC - trying hard to resist the temptation though and stick with my laptop.

    They're brilliant.

    Pentium D processors overheat.

Mine is 22*C at a 40-50% overclock right now :)

(1.8ghz x 2 to 2.8 ghz x 2). I didn't realise it was possible. But yea, incredibly performance for the money, well worth it. Just compare benchmarks really, the e6300 is £100 so not too expensive, the Pentium D really wasn't that good, hence why nobody used it. I cant say I know much about the prices at the moment, but for £100 I got a perfectly stable dual core 5.6ghz processor (if thats how it works, anyway).

They are supposed to be really quite good at the moment.

I've got core 2 duo. It runs cooler than core duo, and faster :).
