    One I wrote last night.

    Shadows:

Who here has ever sat down and thought of this strange occurance?
My own shadow scares me sometimes because it's the only thing that truly reflects who I am
My mind slowly delves into a deep thought
As I reflect on this man, a shadowy man with a shadowy past, a man who likes to hide in the shade, away from the sun, the light and the heat.
He steps out from the shade, the blistering blinding sun has a profound effect, he gazes down to the ground, only to be confronted by the shadow.
"How to erase this?" he askes, "how tro erase this dark deceptive cloud, this abcsess that grows on both the body and soul and never leaves, how?"..."Ah yes, just close my eyes, imagine, free myself, free myself from it all!"

    Give Me

You thought you had a bad taste in men
If that was so, I'd want to be that sour taste
A sour skittle I would be, if that's what it takes
To show that you can have something good

You are like a newspaper, your actions in bold print
It seems you are the Independent, your actions never brink
Upon the needs or doubts of others, of that they do not think
That you are one not with hesitation, when it comes to jubilation

A double decker so multi layered
A milky bar, its taste so wayward
Aero bars so floaty and light
Like the look in yours eyes

It might be nice to make you melt around the house
So theres something to look forward to, when you are out
Whether you're waiting for me when you're on your own
Or rushing to me, knowing I'm alone

Working so hard to show you that I know
That some fair things should be taken quite slow
Yet easily excited you don't want it to blow
Especially when you know you've got a good thing to go

Give me a duster and polish too, I'll shine you up new
Give me some time so I'll be good, be happy you should
Give me a challenge for me to do, I'll try to show you
Anything for you, anything I'd do

    Pre-emption and midst

My life and my breath of fresh air
excites at each oppurtunity of contact
overwhelming at the anticipation of each encounter

    My reason and my lifeline
The feeling never dumbing over time
A wish that it could go back to the time it was fresh to you

Times when emotions be extant in a raw state
still as young as a gaping wound, to me
No forecast of blotting, not able to heal besides not wanting to

This wound is like a captivated tune
first in the pecking order, last to grab attention when concious
yet yours is adverse in contradiction of my own

Read my existance then hide me away in your pocket
    like an electrical item
materialistic and not craving for your reassurance

Controlling when the awareness comes and go
you find it simplistic to choose when the blood commences
seemingly naive that for this series of encounters theres altered flows

But controlling the flow is like pulling on a rope of my lucidity
Your innocent to the feelings, well grounded and flawless
Not my role to let on the bereave it has upon me

Therefore remaining vigilant to your each move and articulation
    Assuming the mutilization the universe
to which my pure intuition exists, my fresh air will expire.

    what i lost

    what i lost

    I walk day and night
In search of something i have lost
The sun and moon cast their light
In a way they give me sight

The river from which i drink upon
    Rushing towards beyond
    What lays there beauty unknown
    Fill this heart with songs

The wind whispers into my ears,
"I know you've come to tears
Fret not i'm always by your side
    Ill blow away your fears

I'd look upon the bright blue skies
And i wonder if i might try
To reach and hold but when i lie
It seems i have with my eyes

As i sit here under this mango tree
    May i have peace momentarily
Until the day i might find thee
    O tree please comfort me.

Not going to quote Phil then Kermit?

"They fuck you up, your Mum and Dad"...

    This Be The Converse:

They buck you up, your mum and dad,

Or if they don't they clearly should.

No decent parents let the bad

They've handed on defeat the good.

Forebears you reckon daft old farts,

Bucked up in their turn by a creed

Whose homely mixture warmed their hearts,

Were just the counsellors you need.

    Life is no continental shelf:

It lifts and falls as mountains do.

So, if you have some kids yourself,

They could reach higher ground than you.

how much can a body take?
One hit, two hits, three hits
How much can your mind take?
One hit, two hits, three hits

When they talk behind your back
    You suppress that gnawing feeling
When everything around you is shitty
You fight it, fight it well.

But no body in the world
    no champion has ever proclaimed
    the victory of the undefeated
    No body in the world
    Can suppress that unfathomable feeling
    An intangible closeness
    Love, with a big L.

    No body in the world
    Can withstand its sheer power
    Can withstand rejection
    Can withstand the yearning
    That desperate feeling
    That city far away
    With those beautiful eyes
    And killing smile
    She could kill me
    But I wonder …
    Has she already?

I'd love to share one i recently wrote - 'tis for the frenchies :p

je suis né à une ville fantôme
ici, tous le monde pense que le terre est plat.
je tombes amoureux d'une ville fantôme
    je l'aime beaucoup, sans cesser...

    pour ceux qui rêvent
    pour ceux qui attendent.
    tombes amoureux encore
    comme vous ne l'êtes jamais
    comme vous ne l'êtes jamais...

    Translation:

I was born in a ghost town.
here, everyone thinks the world is flat.
i fell in love with a ghost town.
i love it a lot, constantly.

    for those who dream
    for those who wait
    fall in love again
as if you've never been (that)
    repeat

I was inspired by a song, so I won't say I've done this from scratch. If anyone wants to correct the French, please do! :p I won't mind. :) I've got a question though, if anyone would bother:

The end; "l'êtes", shouldn't it be "l'avez"? It should be the first one, right, as it's: "être amoureux," and not "avoir amoureux"-- even if I'm saying "avoir tomber amoureux," right? But as it should be: "As if you have never been in love", isn't that wrong then? My guess is:

"Comme vous n'avez jamais être amoureux". Yep, that's it. :) Where should the pronoun be then? I want to say: "As if you have never been that"-"that" being in love. So... "Comme vous ne l'avez jamais être amoureux," or: "Comme vous n'avez jamais l'être amoureux" - anyone know which? Am I even on the right track?

    French is so confusing. :eek2:

    Milk, milk Lemonade
    'round the corner chocolates made

    I saw a jolly hunter
    With a jolly gun
    Walking in the country
    In the jolly sun.
    In the jolly meadow
    Sat a jolly hare.
    Saw the jolly hunter.
    Took jolly care.
    Hunter jolly eager-
    Sight of jolly prey.
    Forgot gun pointing
    Wrong jolly way.

    Jolly hunter jolly head
    Over heels gone.
    Jolly old safety catch
    Not jolly on.
    Bang went the jolly gun.
    Hunter jolly dead.
    Jolly hare got clean away.
    Jolly good, I said.

why is it at this time of year I feel so blue
why do I feel like I do
why do I hate the things around me all the time
    why does everything feel sublime
why do people feel so empty inside
why they have nothing to hide
why does confidence go like quick sand
why do I live on this land
why am I so unhappy and feel blue
why do I know not what to do
why is life such a pain
why is there anything for me to gain
why on earth am I here
why do I live in fear?

just written from how I am feeling 06 12 2008

I wrote this poem will drunk. Oh yes.

    drinkers on the cheap

who knows what this is supposed to mean
when we've got through two bottles
of tesco's finest red wine and some
cava brut just between the two of us.
and so we think it's okay to sing
when youve got the itunes going
    - songs we havent heard in years,
song that are classics in our mind.
so who knows what this is supposed to mean
while you're penning beards and horns
onto respectable men in the paper
and im pouring more cheap wine
    singing lady marmalade.

    under the influence is
    the only time when our
    idleness is justified.

I didn't go into an epic depiction,
Of my encounter of unrequited love at first sight,
    With a little ginger sweetheart,
That I met last year on a cold autumnal night,
    On a bridge,
    And henceforth have been pestering,
    Most profusely,
    And continuously since then.

I just said 'long story mate'

    EDIT:

Didn't realise this thread was over 4 years old now :)

    Mind disarray
    Problematic steps
    Can't decide

    I see you
    Complicated affection
    I see them
    Intoxication
    Blurry motives behind our smiles

Why does It have to be like this?
    Safety catch off
How does it all ways come to this?
    Round in chamber
    Ready
    Power in my hands
But who do I take down?

    hope you like! :)

A poem i've been writing recently. It just sounded like a nice idea. :)

Do you want to go to the seaside?
Let us walk across the pier and embrace eachother under your overcoat
Do you want to hold my hand?
We'd smile up at the stars which glittered across the black velvet sky
Feel the crisp air pinch our rosy cheeks and call out to the barron moon
You'd wrap your coat around me tighter and frondly look into my eyes
And gaze across the sea watching the fishing boats travel home for the day
    Magic...

I remember the first time I saw you
    Across a crowded hospital ward
I remember your face in concentration as you paced the corridor
The way you ruffled your thick hair and how your dark eyes glinted even the shadows
Rain trickled down the window panes and a crack of thunder echoed around the wards
    Your head shot upwards
    My heart skipped a beat
    Magic...

Blurry glows of warm light poured from the seaside cafe shops
A familar song played in a nearby resturant
"L is for the way you look at me"
    He took my hands
"O is the only one I see..."
    My heart begun to throb
    "V is very very, extraordinary"
I smelt his aftershave as our bodys pressed closer
"E is even more than anyone that you adore"
    Magic...

Coming up on 5 years old this thread!

All I want to do is look after you
Care for you, keep you safe
Defend the country, because of you
I want you to be proud, I really do
You say it cant work, I possibly agree
But have you ever, ever left to chance
Something which you see, about you and me
Which I hope and want to make you happy
And fill you full of glee
When I've seen you smile, all I want to do
Is hold you in my arms, and say that I love you.

    Merry Christmas
    Merry Christmas
    For me and you
    For you and me
    Merry Christmas
    Merry Christmas
    Can you see
    My Christmas tree
    Merry Christmas
    Merry Christmas
    For me and you
    For you and me
    The weather's cold
    And the years old
    So have some wine
    And sing some rhymes
    So Merry Christmas
    Merry Christmas
    For me and you
    For you and me
    Merry Christmas
    Merry Christmas
    Merry Christmas
    Merry Christmas...
