Aside from the standard child benefit, I doubt it.

If the uni has a creche (sp?), she might get childcare at a reduced rate.

With there being a growing number of mature students, (and thus growing numbers of students likely to have children) I'm sure the university will be able to help out somehow. Best speak to them directly to see what they offer.

basically... your LEA will ask about whether you have any dependant children.
you are entitled to child benefit. you are entitled to claim throughout all your uni holidays. you university itself won't financially help out, unless you do the same as everyone else who is short of money and apply to learning funds for help.

You are entitled to child benefit and extra student loan to help through. You will also probably be entitled to various bursaries in order to help you further.

The booklet you get with the loan application tells you what to do with the government benefits, and asking the universities you are applying to will give you the best ideas on bursaries and such like.

Is there any information on the uni website that your girlfriend is at/thinking of applying for?

A lot of unis have a support scheme in place for student parents. In addition there are childcare bursaries for students available through your LEA.

There should be information in the prospectus and the documentation from the Student Loan Company on benefits, bursaries and other monies available to you.
