Ok so I can't view a lot of youtube videos now because apparently I don't have the latest flash player, I tried downloading it off the Adobe website, it even says "Successfully Installed" yet when I try to see videos it says I don't have it installed, what's wrong?

Supposing you're using windows, no idea what the problem is. There's not a flash 9 for linux yet, sadly.
On second thought, make sure the page you go to download it says it's version 9. I don't know why it wouldn't, but it can't hurt to look (if you haven't).

Could remove any plugins which relate to the flash player and any previous versions and try install the latest?
