    Next Generation
    It's massive.
It's more like a country club really...
There is not a specific group of people that go. Although there are a lot of high end cars in the car park.

Holmes Place - it's in the National Badminton club, thus lots of young fit men gyming-it  There's a small gym and a big gym and usually the women tend to like the small one and the men the big one.

    This is my gym http://www.lifetimefitness.com/
Its good. 3 pools, courts, saunas steam rooms, tv's large work out with free weights, aerobic stuff, machines, 2 rooms for different classes, food court, spa, hair style place, massage rooms, about 10 personal trainers around at all times, most just to wander around, they charge 50-100 an hour to actually work with them though.

There are tons of characters there though. Weird people.

I just went to the virtual tour on that life time fitness one - first thing I clicked was the child care services?!!

ANYWAY mines the uni gym, small and full of students. I find the weights room intimidating though cause loads of beefy guys lollop on the machines and I feel really mincy setting it to a diddy weight - feel like I'm being watched and it spooks me!
  • Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
Mine is fairly small, with weights room, cv room, a very small pool and some other stuff that I don't use.

But it's next door to work and they pay for it now so ho-hum.

I train at home so I can avoid the masses, I don't want to train with the meat heads, the post christmas trainers, and the other general idiots that I find when I do visit gyms.

Although I do do boxercise in the local leisure centre
  • Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
    Boxercise is awesome!

I go to a ladies only gym. There's not much choice where I live, only my one and a Fitness First.

The gym part is quite crap, they play the radio really quietly and there is no TV. There are toning tables. I usually just go to the classes now as the gym is a bit boring. There's a sauna, and free internet access.

I'd like to join a posh gym when my membership expires but I would have to travel quite a bit further.
