What do you like about the UK?

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
Since people keep moaning that we're being too negative.

How you can write a sarcastic comment on a message board without having to put a :p after it for people to get it, unlike on American message boards.

The fact that people pay thousands of pounds extra for a convertable car that they can only use for two weeks a year.

Our ability to queue properly.

The obsession with football, just to counter the number of times this came up in the "what annoys you about the UK" thread.

The countryside in the north of England.

    Country folk in country pubs.

The fact that, even with the existence of the toff twats in the public schools, normal people still manage to be successful sometimes.

It's only safer because they're rich enough to buy their own cocaine.

But what has "safety" got to do with the price of cheese?

    The English language.

    Pubs with proper beers.

The weather and the glorious countryside it creates. The coastline.

    Regional identity but national unity.

The ability to poke fun at ourselves and our leaders. Irony.

There's so much I like about living in the UK that it would take too long to list. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else, and I feel safe living here. :)

    Our infinitely superior music artists.
