3 exams in as many days

gah, it's just not on.

I know back in gcse's 6 in 3 days (or something) wasn't actually that bad, and even at A-level it wouldn't have been too mean either, but the last 3 exams of my degree being on consecutive days, is just harsh :(

especially when there's another week of exams to go, that I have none in, and although it's nice to be finishing early, I'd much rather they were spread out more, so I'd atleast have a chance of getting the grades I need to get onto the MSc course I want to do

*angsts*

sorry, just a bit pissed off with the whole situation, not to mention my lack of motivation and preparation...

i've got a bitch of a week coming up. i've got an exam on friday, another on monday, another on tuesday, another on thursday and another on friday.

i've also got a 6th somewhere or other but the uni hasn't told us when it is going to be yet.

well I'm glad I'm not the only one with a horrid exam time table, I've emailed the head of year about it suggesting it be changed for future students, becuase it's just not on really...

My proffessional body only does two sittings of exams a year in December and June each lasting a week. Therfore I have to do four 3-hour accountancy exams in a week! :crying: I'm not looking forward to it!

well for my finals i had 7 exams in 10days :(
  • Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
sheesh, why are they so mean? it sucks you all have such bad time tables, I'm pretty sure I'm not going to get any marks in tommorrows exam, I already have 20% towards the module, but that's nothing really :(

don't know what I'm going to do, I feel kinda sick, have no concentration, and no time left :( would really quite like to repeat the year to be honest, but I dont know if they'll let me.

an unclassified would just be a waste of 3 years, and everything will have gone to shit :( arrrggh, what the fuck am I going to do?

try and relax. it probably wont be half as bad as you think and you probably know more than you think too. but if you worry too much then you'll forget anything you do already know. id have a read through of your notes or whatever, go to bed, get up earlyish- but make sure youve had enough sleep- and have another read through in the morning and just see what happens. good luck :)

unfortunately, there's very little last minute reading of notes can do for me when it comes to quantum mechanics, I am just terribly terribly unprepared, and it's entirely my fault :impissed:

but thanks for the words of support :)

I have five second year uni exams in four days next week :grump:

    Do you know the particle-in-a-box?

Or is that like so last year?

yeh we still do that one, particle in a finite box is actually more complicated than one in an infinate hole!

in fact, particles in boxes are the entire basis of the whole course, just with lots of horrible looking schrodinger wave equations to describe the different situations.

(that said, I probably only got about 2 marks in that whole exam, it was reaaaaaaaaaally bad :( )

onto thermodynamics for my last exam now! yay :yeees:

my timetable is 8 exams spaced out over a month (only 2 the day after eachother). Salt in the wound eh :D Anyway i'm sure you can resit the year if it really does turn out for the worst... I don't think theyd just say "thats it your done"??

unfortunatly, I've asked the head of dept. and it is completely impossible to retake the final year, so I'm a bit screwed really :(
  • Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
ah, well you won't know if you really failed till you get the exam marks, so try and put it out of your mind for summer and enjoy it! (doubt ive even passed my first year exams, let alone third year :D)

:chin: I had to learn some QM for physical chemistry and there were always particles in boxes (except of course when they were outside the stupid box due to Quantum Tunnelling or whatever) but thankfully I specialised in other things (not QM) before I got on to infinite holes!

You may have done better than you think!

Two of the exams are on modules i did last semester, before christmas too. But they are not examined til now.?!

Mine are done like that too.. they expect you to remember it from months ago :/

all my notes are useless and messed up by now, so I haven't used ANY of the notes I took... just revised off the lecture slides / a few books. Seems a waste of time to have even gone to any lectures :/

We have that at my uni too. I failed a maths exam last in my second year but the course ended mid-December and the exam wasn't until May and I'd tried to revise but it was a stupid way of timetabling it.

the infinite holes are the easiest thankfully, because then tunnling doesnt occour, so it's completely idealised, you probably did it without realising at the beginning of the course! :)

but it's all over now, given up worrying about it seeing as there's absolutely nothing I can do about it! I only have 2 weeks of partying and a single presentation left :thumb:

Im not complaining about that, im complaing that That isn't fresh in my mind that has been mostly forgoten since i studied it....before Christmas Can you not see that this is illogical. It would be better to have them examined in January, rather than having to relearn it all now on top of the modules i did this semester.

I have 5 A-level exams in one week. And four of them (each 1hr30) are in one morning. What a piss take. :yeees:

No, make that 6. I forgot about general studies.
