What's the best thing you ever got in a pound shop?

walked past one yesterday and ended up buying 7 items!!

Best one I think was a table top sellotape dispenser with 6 rolls of tape included!!

I bought a phone charger for my car for my old phone for $1. Cost $25 from the phone place. Couldn't pass up that deal.

I love £££ shops, you can get really good value batteries there, as well as glasses etc.

    You are missing out

Only thing you have to be careful of is absentmindedly buying stuff for a pound that is cheaper somewhere else...like pasta.

Kinnaird Park in Edinburgh had the killer combination of a pound shop beside a cinema. You'd go in and buy these giant fuck off bags of sweets on the way to the pictures.

They went up the jumper in one fluid movement. Gave you a beer belly style bulge but, given the size of the bags, you'd be noted as a fat bastard anyway, so it was all good.

There's a masssive one in Camden, I can never go in without buying 1kg chocolate chip cookies  But they are gooooood cookies! I usually just buy batteries there, but also good for stuff like umbrellas. I will, unfailingly, lose or break my umbrella so I just buy 99p ones instead... Oh, and I got my faithful archaeology torch from there. Couldn't find the loo on the campsite without it!

Bought 20 AA batteries for £1. Thought they'd be pretty shite, but they worked really well when I used to use them for my minidisc player after the lithium battery got fucked. Don't last as long as Duracell but you can't go wrong for a quid. Great for TV remote controls etc.

I only actually know of one dollar store where everything is $1. Every other "dollar store" Sells things at any price, its no better deal than going to any other store.
