Trillian?

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
I've just started to use a new chat program called trillian which supports Icq, msn, aim, irc AND yahoo all at once. Of course, it takes a while to get used to but i got it yesterday and it's cool now.

Anybody else use it?

    and for anyone too dumb to work that one out, it's a character mr adams (read: god <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/biggrin.gif">) created, called tricia macmillian (me thinks, but cannae me sure!)

    in space, inexplicably, this is shortened to trillian. <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/biggrin.gif"&gt;

    Does it actually work?

    Im gonna try HotJabber soon - when Ive got time cos I hate having all my system resources being hogged! Especially by ICQ!

    Does it support the SMS feature in ICQ?

    Whilst I'm sure that there is a unix version of it, I am using windows millenium with trillian and it works.

    Doesn't have sms in ICQ though.. Which depending on how much you use it could be a problem (there is always lycos though...)

    i dont really use icq any more, apart from to talk to one of my friends from school! everyone else who used to use it uses msn now or yahoo or both. and one other friend... but we dont talk that much any more. anyway the point was, the main reason i use icq is for the sms feature! if i didnt use it for that, i would uninstallk annoying version 2000 coz it hogs all my RAM, and put 99b back on.

    Another ICQ user / hater! LOL.

    Its terrible! But so many people use it (including me) because whilst being total crap, its still better than the rest.

    The SMS is totally indispensible, partly because Lycos hardly ever works and when it does it takes about 30mins <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/frown.gif"&gt;

    and once u get the majority of people using it, more an dmore people do, because compatibility is what it's all about in the computer world. it's why so many people use windows as well, and MS in general. grrr eug
