    Maybe, but it's not so much the character as the whole set of films from start to finish.

    I just find them completely detached from reality, which is normally good, but in this case it's just not.

    I agree that the films are bad but there classics. Some of it's so cheesy it's just good fun. I think they're meant to be I kind piss take film.

    Bond films are great, they're so completely detached from reality and that's their appeal. Giant lasers, evil villains, fast cars, loose women and Bond cruising through it all like a suave sexist dinosaur. I think he appeals to something in all of us, how the world can automatically fall into place just for him wherever he goes. Connery was the master of being Bond, Brosnan's pretty good as well, but he's got a tougher job being a modern day Bond and contending with the horrors of Political Correctness.
