Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
i want to buy a lip colour (gloss or lipstick) that is a skin colour. its hard to describe, not a pale pink, but an actualy peachy/creamy colour.
Ive seen a few ppl, mostly celebrities, wearing these, but cant find any in shops.
i want this shade to make my lips appear smaller.
Thanx
also, if any1 knows any other ways to make lips look smaller, pls share them.

I just looked in my old text book and it says:

Select natural colours and darker shades, avoiding bright, glossy colours.

    1) Blend foundation over the lips to disguise the natural lip line.

    2) Apply a darker lipliner inside the natural lip line to create a new line.

Hope this helps! As for the lipstick, not sure sorry.

For the past 4/5 years I've been searching every cosmetic company looking for a nude coloured lipstick that is the same colour as my lips, but to no avail. (Again, I've seen loads of pics in magazines with perfectly coloured lips - and obviously they have makeup artists scraping these colours together in a pallet, so it's not going to be shop bought)

I did however come across a company in Knightsbridge called Makeup Ala Carte, who specialise in personalising cosmetics and have a wonderful range of lipsticks in some really natural shades. They're not cheap, at £17 a pop, but they are the closest thing I've found that barely resembles my own lipcolour.

I often find 'nudes' 'naturals' and 'naked' coloured lipsticks are far too orange to be nude and so am booking myself in for 1 hour's worth of mixing lipstick colours together to form my very own personal colour lipstick.

Prescriptives also do a similar thing where they custom blend your make up.

the nude lipstick i have was freebie when i bought some boots no7 stuff. I dont really see the point of a lipstick the same colour as lips though. why not just go bare lipped?

Personally, I hate going bare lipped especially as I wear a full face of makeup (foundation, concealer, powder, blusher and eye makeup) and it doesn't look 'finished' without lipstick - but it looks too much with a coloured lipstick, so the only option is a lipstick that blends into your natural colour, to look... natural :thumb:

I'm a bit confused. Do you mean skin colored lip stuff like the color as your normal pink/redish lips or as in peachy (for lack of a better color, I dont have my crayons with me right now) the same color as your forehead.

like a peachy colour. the colour of my skin normally, not of my lips. Ive seen people in magazines, etc, wearing shades like these (almost looks like they've got foundation on their lips) and i makes their lips look alot smaller, which is what i want!

    huh?

Is anyone else confused? I don't understand why you want your lips to blend into your face, big lips are SEXIII! Make the most of them, i love my big lips and guys always comment on how sexy they are, slap on a bit of gloss and pout for England, thats my advice! x

Ps, just realised how rude my post sounds, ah well..

I have blowjob lips apparently :yeees: and hair down to the small of my back, so lipgloss and vaseline are a no go. Matt lipsticks are the only thing I can get away with without turning into a bearded woman everytime a slight breeze hits.

lipgloss and vaseline are the worst idea for lips. I dont have long hair, but i have quite full lips and gloss just makes hair stick to them all the time and feels gunky and gross.
I usually just use either benetint which looks really natural, or one of those ultra long lasting matt lipsticks. Often at the moment though I just go without any lip colour at all though cos as well as big lips I also have huge eyes so I usually prefer to accentuate those and leave my lips alone or it can look a bit too much.
