Keeping fit at home

Well I am wanting to try and improve my fitness and tone up. I am short on money and can't afford to go to the gym. So I was wondering what could I do at home?

I have an exercise dvd and some equipment to tone my stomach and thighs. Also got a skipping rope (but have to use it outside). So any suggestions on what else I could do?
