Why do guests always view old thread?

I've noticed this for a while now, if you spend time checking out what other users are looking at here you will have noticed (as i have) that most the guess users are viewing really old threads some from years ago... why? :confused:

    Maybe they found a thread through google and are just viewing it? Rather than coming to thesite on purpose?

    they probably get there from searching for stuff in search engines .. this site comes up really easily ! ..

    well, when people come on here they usually get greeted with a freindly, "do a search, duh!"
    so I expect that's what they're doing.

    I know I searched and read the boards before I joined up

    Sometimes it won't be a person at all but a search engine indexing the site so that obscure people can find it.

    well i started posting before i said hi and the reaon people like me look at old ones is because there the ones that catch your eye and sometimes you do not realise how old they are.
