we call it the "nanny state" when,yet another law is passed supposedly for the good of the people, that not everyone is pleased with,but we go along with it anyway.is our " freedom" silently being taken away by our government?

And do you know whats funny? Alot of people criticse the Right side of politics and the Cnter right way of thinking. They support the left side of politics, socialism, communism and such. Yet it is a fact that its the left side of politics that wants more government invlovement in EVERYTHING we do. In government, in business, eductaion our very lives. Its the elft that wants the true "Nanny State". But most people ignore this fact.

To be fair I think the system will eventually destroy itself. 1984 is a frightening novel, but I like the point about the war that is uncovered near the end (if you've read it, which I expect you have to make such a comparison, but I don't wanna spoil the plot) and can relate it to the 'War on Terror'.
Most people dont want to think, they have no interest in the news or what their MP is getting up to.

The internet is a haven for everyone too though. Remember: Sharing things for free with others is Communism. Hence, the internet is a big Communist thing as well. You can get services for free. It's been used as a huge joke (Remember, when you download MP3's your downloading Communism!) But, in a way, it is true. One person has something, and is sharing it with us all. Then (hopefully) we contribute something back, be it by our upload or by seeding the torrent afterwards.
