    It was on tonight. It was the one where they thought Father Jack had died after drinking floor polish <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/biggrin.gif">;

    Well, they made more taggart after that actor died, why not more ted?

    You'd need to get someone else to play the (nearly) straight man.

    Father Dougal:
    So, mike, you're telling me that Ted has disappeared. That's kind of spooky isn't it?
    One night the numbers on the telly match that slip of paper he buys every week, the next morning he's gone. Do you think it was men in a flying saucer? or may be it that big bouncing ball thing chased him down the beach. Yes, that was probably it. The bouncing ball thing. And the funny little taxis. And the badges. Oh yes, and the numbers! that makes sense he got the same numbers as the telly and now the ball's got him and now he has one of those numbers. Iwonder which one he's got. Let's see, it'll be one of those on the bit of paper. Number 11 I think. Yes definately number 11. Or maybe 27. "

    Hmm, perhaps I shouldn't give up the day job to become a comedy writer *just* yet

    Making more Ted without Dermott Morgan would be a terrible mistake. Far better to leave it in the glorious limited edition it is now. Remember they only made 12 episodes of Fawlty Towers. You can't mass produce genius. Only The Simpsons has come close to that - but they have the massive advantage that the kids never grow up and no cast members die (although they did lose a couple when Phil Hartman was murdered).

    Also, I don't think Ardal was too keen to make any more, (typecasting and all that).
