Too many 'Britney's'

Are there too many sing-a-like, look-a-like, dance-a-like Britney Spears popping up all over the TV and radio stations? One is enough! The latest one I can think of is Mandy Moore (or whatever her name is) - Britney rip-off. Are there too many?

That's exactly what I mean - Do people buy this kind of music? All commercialised & no talent!

yeah, but waddaya gonna do?
the charts have been based on shit music for ever. okay, so maybe its worse now and the record companies are more cynical about manufacturing hit records, but the truth is, if you don't like it, don't buy it.

What can you do?
Simple, split up the charts, so that you get a fight out between the pap (Spice Girls, Oasis, Robbie W, Billie, Glenda Wannabe etc) in the POP chart, and then have decent acts like Dave Bowie and maybe the Tom Robinson band and umm, Jims Super Stereoworld (?) in the PROPER chart.
HTH HAND.

I must admit - some of the songs are catchy but I don't buy any CD's of manufactured bands out of prinicpal. I have friends in bands that have real talent and because they don't "know the right people" or "have the look" they aren't getting anywhere.
The whole of Britain is commercialised anyway!

This is elitist. Some people may say the kind of music you like is crap. Why should people be embarrased to say they like a certain song or singer? There is a difference between a good pop record and other kinds of music, but the name of the game is to make money.A lot of so called "credible"acts around now started life as pop singers/groups.

are there? who? ...the public are being brainwashed here! look at the big scary picture!! i really have no idea how they can listen to that crap anyway...must be a genetic defect...they are victims to the disorted messes of the pop world!..'will someone please think of the children!'

I agree the charts are full of absolute pants... we all used to laugh at Eurovision Song Contest entries, but to be honest that's quality music compared to most of the stuff that's out now. I look at groups like Steps or Boyzone and think how can anyone take this pap seriously. But at the end of the day people buy it and so long as there is a market I guess they'll kee dishing this stuff out.

Too much Britneys! Are you serious?
Mate, I wish every female singer was more like Britney Spears and Christine Aguilera, I mean have you seen them? They are the two most beautiful girls on this planet (apart from my girlfriend of course )

You are either:

a) Kidding
a) Blind
or c) Stupid.

In both their cases, their supposed beauty is artificial.

True - both Mel C and Robbie Williams are classed as mature, credible singers, but when they were part of their original bands - Spice Girls and Take That, they were just another throw away trash band - personally i enjoy both sorts of music, but hey, everyone's tastes are different. I just think that what some people call trash is useful as a stepping stone to allow them to be more creative themselves.

That annoys me, when people like Mariah Carey start talking about their "art". I find it offensive when she calls herself an "artist" or a "musician". She can't play music and her music is not artistic (does she write her own songs? I dunno.). And then she accuses Christina Aguillera of biting her style. Excuse me? What style? Mariah Carey's not exactly original. Every pre-90's R'n'B diva could say exactly the same thing about Mariah.

Grrrr....

Hmm...Britney Spears is the wrong person to use..after all, most the female singers have been around longer than her...

People like britney have been around since the 70's, with the osmonds and the bay city rollers. the thing is, the go away. Andy warhol sadi that every one gets 15 minitues of fame- maybe shes having hers at the moment. as for separate charts, it wouldnt work; it would just marginalise the smaller ands who cant afford to publicise their stuff!
as for robbie and mel c being 'proper' acts, where did this come from? all they have done is catch on the coat tails ofother people work and glammed it up a bit!! robbie for instance, was seen taking notes at Nine inch nails concerts, filter concerts and not to mention his connection with oasis a few years ago!! Mel c is just working off her spice girls fame. this is seen in the way that victoira beckham has threatened virgin that unless they pull Spiller's song from release the week her bland pap omes out she will throw a hissy fit!!

Yes. If I were a bloke I would fantasise about shagging Britney because she is totally shagadelic baby. But her music (and the others that follow her footsteps) is total shite. Sorry, Britney.

Of course there are too many Britneys! In fact, ONE Britney is too many! She is all of the following: Talentless, Braindead, Stuffed with Silicone, Tacky. Oh! Did I mention that she was talentless?

too right - people, you could help bring down the manufactured groups - try this for instance...
Stop buying singles from Woolworths since they pick what we want to here and only allow 5 releases per week on there shelves. Buy independent and chooses what YOU want!
