Me and my boyfriend are thinking of using condoms to reduce the mess. What are the best brands and types to use?

depends, if you're on the pill you can try all the fun ones :) I hear condomi are supposed to be pretty good.

I however always used durex extra safe till the gf went one the pill  (mainly cos we broke another brand and got scared!)

I like durex condoms particularly the featherlight ones. Don't use mates condoms they are crap.

I think they have spermicide in them, or more than usual. I think.
I used to use Durex Extra safe with my (ex) boyfriend.

They are slightly thicker and have extra lubrication which contains spermicide.

To "reduce the mess" ?!

Well I've not had sex in this country so I've not tried and tested the British brands... but try several different ones and see, what you and your bf like most might be different to other people on here.

Personally I have found that some brands come up slightly larger than others (even when claiming to be the same size in mm) and that "extra lubricated" tends to make them extra slimey to put on and unroll which is frustrating.

Are you sure? I thought they didn't because spermicide increases the risks of STI transmission

If you go here http://www.durex.com/cm/productrange.asp?intMenuOpen=5 and then on the side bar go on to products/product range it gives you a list of all the condoms they do and what they are lubricated with and the dimentions etc.

Condomi do some fun condoms, like the ones with little bumps and stuff on them ;)

Condomi are by far and away the best ones to use. They are very strong, but quite thin, and they don't have the vile smell that Durex have. The ribbed condomi condoms are wonderful, very comfortable too, and very easy to roll on.

Durex condoms are woeful. They smell disgusting, they're a pain to put on, they're a pain to take off, they never sit right, and they're not actually very good. If you've put it on right it shouldn't break, but I don't trust Durex because they feel flimsy, and I've put my fingernail through them before.

Can you get the condomi ones from places likes boots?
  • Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
I've seen them in superdrugs, can't remember seeing them in my local Boots but it is only a small store. More then likely you can.
  • Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
I'm pretty sure they do them in superdrug, and most pub toilets ;)

but you can also buy them online if you can't find them anywhere locally.

I've always found the durex extra safe ones to be the least safe. I know how to put on a condom and I know I'm doing it right, but they with out fail break within 10mins. Even with slow sex.
  • Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
I just bought them so thinking of buying a different type.

This is the only thing I know about condoms; Condomi Extra Thick are given out by a lot of walk-in sexual health clinics. I have about 200 under my bed because of my connection with the LGBT Soc!

Trojan are one of the two most comman and most used here. I"ve used them, nothing special.

On amazon, you can get a pack of 100 Durex for $25. Woo.

Ours sells books, cds and dvds.

You could probably buy a book about condoms on amazon UK though.
