A BRITISH driver taking nu-metal band Alien Ant Farm on a European tour was killed yesterday when his coach crashed in Spain.

Two of the group — famous for their recent hit Smooth Criminal — along with two other Brits, two Americans and a Czech were hurt.

Driver Christopher Holland, 26, from Swansea, died as the coach slammed into the back of a lorry on a motorway near Madrid at around 2am. The US group were on their way to a concert in Lisbon.

Singer Dryden Mitchell, 25, and guitarist Terry Corso, 30, are being treated in hospital.

They and co-driver, Anthony Howard, 37, also from Swansea, and Gary Roberts, 35, from Liverpool, are not believed to be badly hurt. But the Czech is in a serious condition.

A Spanish police spokesman said: “The coach carrying the musicians and show assistants crashed into the back of a heavy Spanish lorry.

“There were 13 people on the bus.”

Alien Ant Farm are known for their outlandish stage performances and comedy videos.

Smooth Criminal, a nu-metal version of Michael Jackson’s hit, made the British top five last year.
