Yes seen them live twice- the best time was Wembley Arena on the "Performance and Cocktails" tour and they were awesome that night!
Best album- hmmm, I think that all three can be best depending on your mood but right now Ill say Performance and Cocktails.
And best song- god thats a tough one! I really loved "Not up to you", "same size feet", "too many sandwiches", "plastic california", "Bartender and the thief", "Just looking", "Watch them fly sundays"- oops getting carried away here
but Im gonna plump for "T-shirt suntan" although ill probably change my mind in few mins

But they are the best british band and Ive always said that- how they get beaten to all the awards by Travis (who personally I feel are sssooo overated) ill never know. And then some new band comes along ie. Starsailor and so on and the Phonics never get a look in and it just pisses me off a bit

never seen them live - but want to!

best album.....

Word Gets Around

best song.....

Local Boy In The Photograph

But they're not the best British band, that honour has to go to Radiohead I'm afraid - although they are a very close 2nd - with Manics, Coldplay etc after that...

Best Album has to be Word Gets Around

Best Song is a tough one. They have done so many good ones!!! Got it down to 3:

1. Thousand Trees
2. Not Up To You
3. Hurry Up and Wait

OK, I wont argue with that- I am a big radiohead fan although I havent listened to much of their stuff of late- I was referring more to the Phonics, Travis, Starsailor sector.

Ooh, I was a huuuuuuge fan a couple of years ago.
I'm in agreement that Word Gets Around is the best album (lyrically) but I think the music is better on Performance and Cocktails.
Not overly keen on J.E.E.P.
I dunno which is my fave, the only song I never really liked was 'Plastic California'.

Walking back from a club in the wee hours, you'll find me singing the 'phonics entire back catalogue through Preston's back streets. This will include most of the first two albums... but the latest album is wank. Come on Kelly Jones, you are better than that!

"...When you rely on a lie thats true, and no-one believes in the things you do, 'cos half of the lies you tell ain't true..."

Lyrical genius! Plastic California is even better. And Tramps Vest / Too Many Sandwiches are the best songs ever.

"I take pride in my work, I'm the last of the big-time drinkers..."

word gets around just has something more than the other albums although performance and cocktails has more songs to sing to.

tshirt suntan kicks ass

seen them in sheffield on performance and cocktails tour. they were pretty damn good - but i wish i had been down near the stage rather than on the seated area

That is soooooo true. The first and second albums rocked. They were the best thing to happen to (ahem) britrock. Now they're just acoustic wank. I am so ashamed and in a way I feel sorry for them, especially Kelly, cos I think he knows what he's done.

But, he can turn back, and he can rock once again. Oh, and I wish he would stop wearing sunglasses indoors, it makes him look so pretentious!

Best album: Word Gets Around (had it the day it was first released!)

Best Song: Can't decide, but top three are:
Local Boy...
Not Up to You
Goldfish Bowl

but that album is the album voted most perfect album by, erm, me!!
