Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of Nerds!

Well, on Tuesday I watched a press-screening of the "Fellowship of the Ring" and being a nerd has never been so cool. Fantasy bollocks full of ork armies and elves. But I loved it. It's not going to be for everyone.
Its a bit long, and it takes a while to get going, but well worth it. That is a classic movie and does justice to the book. (Yes, I can read). Go and see it, all three hours, I recomend it.
Can't wait for the next two, roll on next Christmas! Resident Evil and Star Wars movies too. Can I contain myself? Probably not.
What do you think of it? If that film had an arse then I'd kiss it. I welcome my "Nerdhood"!

I was in WH Smith the other day and there's so many versions of the fellowship out now and all these mothers are buying it for christmas. It kinda pissed me off cos just cos they made a film everyone's buying the first book, I said out loud "bunch of pinheads, they should have read the book already instead of jumping on the bandwagon" and one woman put the book back!
Heard nothing but good things from ppl who've already seen it
To be honest, I've never read the book or even the harry potter books for that matter.. I'm just not a book reader. I haven't seen the film yet but I guess I'll plan to at some point...
The trailers look quite good and I've kind of sussed the story line now... some ring, very powerful that can control everyone, found by an elf (?) and he decides to destroy it by melting it in 'the fires of Mount Dougal' but this bloke lord thing called Sireon decides he wants it back and hunts them down...
Pretty stunning effects for it, looks alright...
I agree though, it isn't for everyone. If you're more a comedy film person then I guess you might not appreciate the sentimental value of the film. I've waited three long years for this film and it was worth it! It was even worth the hour and a half traffic jam to get there!! I missed the first few minutes because of it.
Anyway, I can't tell you enough how good it is but check it out for yourselves.
It isn't a nerdy film. I think its a bit sad to call it that. Reading the book isnt nerdy either, but I urge people not to jump on the bandwagon as someone already pointed out.
Over and out (sorry for the long post)
But then my brother&wife(his not mine!) sed dya wana come - i gave it a whirl and i was amazed!
How anyone can say harry puffta is beta or even put them in the same category is beyond belief!
The special effects were fantastic! Was it me or did ne1 else think it was a bit like titanic wen Sam was rescued from the water????
Erm ... probably not a very accurate description but a bloody good shot at it, Justin!
A hobbit (halfling) who posesses the ring goes on an adventure to destroy it in Mount Doom (LOL at Mount Dougal). Bloke called Sauron want's it back and indeed sends people to try and hunt the party down. The three books are basically a big adventure with Orcs, Trolls, Elfs, Wizards, Giant Eagles, Talking Trees, Giant Spiders etc
I've read the book a couple of times and have to say that it's a long read but the film is very accurate of the first book. Worth seeing anyway except for the fact 3 hours in a cinema seat is very uncomfortable.
