    No teaching is good, best compatability is between a teacher and a police officer <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/wink.gif"&gt;

Sounds like my kind of job. I don't fancy crawling around in the mud all day with the infantry. Of course, if I could get into the RAF I fancy working on a Nimrod. (aka "The worlds biggest fighter") Mmmmm, look at all those bombs. <IMG alt="image" SRC="tongue.gif" border="0">

    My ideal job would be.....

Working freelance in the computing industry on about 50k a year - freelance so I can just work 3 days a week and the other days coaching sport/guiding Moutain trips. And before people say it isn't possible, I know people that earn 50K a year 3 days a week.

Will be nice if it works out, and if it doesn't all those sports coaching qualifications look damn good on my cv <IMG alt="image" SRC="biggrin.gif" border="0">
  • Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
Yes it is possible especially if you go into consultancy.
Alistair, what sports qualifications do you have?
  • Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
At the moment I am a qualified Volleyball Coach and Referee. I am also a 2 star qualified kayaker. At the moment I am working on logging time to go towards my 3 star kayak, 2 Star Kayak Coach, ML (Mountain Leader - qualifies me for Mountain Guiding), SPA (Single Pitch Award - Climbing instructor), Gym and Fitness Instructor, Lifeguard and First Aider. Unfortunatly for almost all these I need to be 18 before I can attend the formal training and evaluation so at the moment I have to focus on logging the time by helping instruct people.

I can't wait till March when I am 18, and I can register and finish of all the qualifications. (it's gonna be a busy gap year) <IMG alt="image" SRC="biggrin.gif" border="0">

edited to correct some stupid spelling mistakes <IMG alt="image" SRC="smile.gif" border="0">

I'm working my way to be a director/producer for movies. I've written a couple of scripts and right now I'm scraping together some money and the equipment to make them into proper films.

I changed from many things during my life ranging from an airline pilot to a chef but a couple of years ago i settled on movies and haven't looked back. Its time all those years bumming around watching films paid off! <IMG alt="image" SRC="cool.gif" border="0">

Watch out for me in a few years at the awards! <IMG alt="image" SRC="biggrin.gif" border="0">

Well I am currently an office drone, working within the customer services department of a Littlewoods owned company - I doub't this will last more than a year (though saying that, I have been their for over 4 months now).

I would love to work within a school's ICT department however; I love computers, programming and networking (I currently have a 4 pc home network, all designed, built, tested and modded by myself).
I think the most ideal job would be network administration within the ICT faculty of a college/school; However ICT teaching wouldn't go amiss - I think that'd be great.

How I intend to get there is another question alltogether...

I wanna be an RAF fighter pilot.
I'm not gonna have a boring desk job.
If i don't get in, i'm going to the army.
If thats no good, i'm gonna be a History teacher.
I used to be indecisive, but now i'm not so sure!

Hmm, am stuck at the moment between being a barrister (prosecution) or being a journalist for a newspaper. Both careers which people love to hate. Hmm.
Mind you, I have written a novel and countless volumes of poetry. My English tutor has pushed me to go to a publisher. Could do, look out for me in WHSmith! I have the brains to be a teacher, but I possess no patience whatsoever. Oh well, can't win them all. Or maybe I could forget it and become an office drone (Don't hurt me....!)

    Luv moi

I want someone to pay me to travel!!!

Failing that, I want to be a solicitor for a Big City Law Firm so that they will send me to Europe (I have a few languages..). In order to further this aspiration I'm going to take Public International Law and Full EC Law as my options next year, and hope some posh firm offers me a training contract! <IMG SRC="biggrin.gif" border="0" ALT="icon">

Or, I could join the diplomatic corps. I did really love Model UN Debating in high school...

Or I could find a Sugar Daddy.
Geez, I must be tired to be posting this.

    One hit wonder, baby, that's where I'm headed...... <IMG SRC="cool.gif" border="0" ALT="icon">

Am currently half-way through my first novel, having already published a book of poetry which was received rather well.....(bows graciously to wonderful Independent Review jounalists).

Hoping that the format from now on is as follows:

    Finish book
    Book critics applaud thusly: "Hoorah!"
Lots of people read book. Cue more applause.
Film investors read book, scratch chin.
Film makers get evil money-making glints in eyes, and make film of book.
    Money in my hand.

I want to be a corporate accountant, moving into consultancy later. But of course, first i need to get my ABB to get into LSE. Oh well.
I used to want to be a vet, until i realised i'd need Chemistry, and the only things i ever learnt from my chem teacher was that long hair in a high side ponytail on a 50 year old was not a good look, and neither are slightly see-through frilly blouses from Karen Millen. And 'whisper like you're telling a secret' is not a good catchphrase to be known by. Moles still mistify me.

There's a part of me (mercifully small) that would like to be a nurse.
No one I know would actually consent to being treated by me, I'm failing to take it personally.
I'd like to do something arty, hindered only by the fact that I can't draw.

Working with animals would be ace, if not ridiculously underpaid.
I'll have to marry a rich man.

Apparently, if u know C++ or Java u can get a job in America that pays upto £50k pa or in UK that pays £25k pa.
Anyone know why American companies pay great and UK companies pay usually less than half what American companies pay. Is it a VAT thing (like petrol) or are they just penny pinching bastards?

I think it's because in america they have to pay almost all of it back in taxes, but we only have to pay 25% back in taxes.
