Sewing to help kids with cancer

I received a request just from a mum whose child just passed away (she emailed just before he passed away), most of the cancer kids have central lines in and kids used to get a little bag to wear around their neck to keep the lumens (ends of the tubes) in which keeps them cleaner to try and avoid infection. How ever his hospital has run out and doesn't have anyone making any for them so kids can't get one.

They are just a very simple bag with ribbon attached which can be worn around the neck, preferable in kiddie friendly fabric (or decorated maybe?). The more that are made the better, as they need to be washed often it gives the parents a bit more time in-between to get the washing done, and its nice for the kids to have a bit of a choice.

The bags can be of different sizes (for different sized kids and different types of tubes) how ever most use ones 3 by 4 inches, that join in the centre with a popper or Velcro. Ribbon (or the same material) needs to be able to be tied around the neck and let the bag rest around the area of the child's stomach- longer is better as it can be trimmed to suit. Can be of any fabric providing its soft, and can be washed.

Any bags can be sent to

I'm hoping to have enough to send to the children featured at www.postpals.co.uk and help any other hospital who has run out or running low.

Thank you
