as u can leave school at 16, u can do most anything i think. some govt jobs, eg soldier/sailor/airman/copper/firefighter u have 2 be older for, but i dont think there is any legal restrictions on when u can work, unlike at below 16 . . . .

well, you cant clean the deli machinery at asda (and presumably other supermarkets) until you're 18. not a job id wish upon anyoone but my worst enemies though sharp spikiness, not to mention general urrrghness...

i think theres some restriction on the number of hours you can work, though i could be wrong. on sundays and late at night especially. someone at my work who's 16 was (what on earth is the past tense of "rota"?) on the rota ( ) for a shift till midnight, and my boss wasnt sure what to do about that and if it was legal or not...

but most places should employ you if you're 16, and in fact some will prefer you to someone who's 18 or older, as they can get away with paying less, because there's no minimum wage.

I can't recommend call centre work enough. It is highly unlikely, even at 16, that you will be payed under 4 GBP/hour.

As for the age thing, it doesn't matter what age you look, only your actual age. I should know, cos I look younger and I'm fed up of people assuming my age from what I look like.
