I'm sure a few thesite member come from Braintree.
Me, Gerbil, Hellfire (no matter how many times he says otherwise), and Samael/Ertrael/Karma Killer/fuckface are from Braintree. There's loads more of the Braintree Bunch, but I cba naming them all, none of them have more than like 30 posts.

hm, the spot where i live is ok, but nottingham can be rather shitty, we've got more gun crime here than anywhere else in the country. Basically i think the amount of crime lets us down.
it's also been pouring it down with rain all morning....how nice. I hope it doesn't tomorrow because i've got alot of walking to do

Have to say I went to Rock City a few weeks ago for a gig, and when I came back out onto the streets with my brother after it'd finished, the vibe in the city centre was not good. I reckon a lot of people probably feel extremely threatened.

There was also a fatal shooting on the road where my mate who is at uni lives :eek2:

No one has mentioned luton as the worst town! proberly because resisdence from there cant afford computers, but its actually offically voted worst town in england. I live close to luton, but luckily far enough away that i cant see or smell it.

I like my home town of Watford, but then again ive lived there for the last 6 years so ive got nothing else to compare it against at a similar age.

I used to live near Luton until about 1990 and it wasn't too bad then, but now it's supposedly the terrorist capital of Britain!

One of the worst places I've visited is Bridlington I think.

Most of the UK towns are shitholes. I imagine they're all the same. Grey drab victorian buildings, a few cinemas, loads of pubs and streets full of "chavs"

I live in Leicester(shire) and it's allright i suppose, from where i live there's a bus into Leicester and one into Loughborough every 10 minutes so it's not like there is a shortage of shops or bars for me :p and i suppose theres nice country parks and we have the national forest (woo :/) but i don't think you could be further away from the sea, which is a bum because i would love to live in some quirky coastal town, and the nearest beach to here is Skegness. Nuff said :yeees:

Do you live anywhere near Quorn?

I love where I live. I live in a village on the banks of a reservoir about 20miles from Cambridge. We have a pub a shop a fishing lodge residential centre. Oh and a prison. Except in 3 weeks time I'm moving to Manchester. Tell me it's not *that* bad?

    probably.

i think they should call it by it's proper name of 'kingston upon hull'. it sounds so much nicer but the phrase mutton dressed as lamb springs to mind!

Cornwall smells of sea-gulls, cow shit and coaches full of old people. Anyone who reckons its okay, has usually only either been to Newquay (which is basically a beach and about 20 highly over-priced surf shops, then add a couple of thousand binge-drinkers every summer), or went on a family holiday here once or twice when they were 8. And of course Cornwall seems okay when you're 8. Thats because about 90% of attractions here are designed for that age. Unless you'd love to ride around on a miniature train, or roll around in seedy ball-pools. There is absolutely NOTHING to do.. the 'culture' (i.e. pixies, pasties and smuggling) is so excruciatingly shite.. the only people who can actually stand living here are the surfies. Everyone else drives to Plymouth as soon as they learn. Which I can't say is any better.

I wouldn't recommend anyone chose to live in Wakefield, it's a druken, depressing wasteland which many can't escape because they're dependant on the council to house them and their entire unemployed family from birth by teenage mother to grave by chav stabbing.

my cousins live in fowey, its about 6 miles away. and also smells of fish. my friend and i once got attacked by some teenage boys in a park there.

countless old people. all very grumpy. pretty in places, yes... the moors are gorgeous. but everywhere else is grey and grotty. lots of weird, suspicious, pervy people where I live, also.

I live in Airdrie, about ten miles east of Glasgow. I have to say it is a shitty town.. Full of buckfast drinking neds!! It has no nightlife - it has no decent clubs. The only decent pub is a Wetherspoon - the rest are all old men pubs.

It is so grey/depressing/boring and downright shite. Infact it one a prize for the most depressing architecture in Scotland. Can't wait til I move.

My girlfriend lives in Barrow, which sounded more or less the same place as you by the description. With Quorn being the bigger I thought there was less chance of you going "What?".

wakefield, while far from the top of my 'fun places to live' list is by no means the most hideous place in the area. in fact, if you firebombed the city centre and everything up to a mile south, it'd be quite nice.

I used to think that, until I got out and explored the country a bit. My mum was born here, her parents too, I don't know how they stayed. I'll be the first to up and leave.
