Personally I found GCSEs, A-level and my degree a pile of piss. I think I probably worked hardest in Year 7 to get into the top sets for everything.
I wish all our important exams happened in Y7 i worked so hard

That's utter shite. You talk utter shite.

Durham has reading weeks for some courses.

    I've never come across them.

Perhaps it changed. Perhaps I never came across them.

    Excuse me whilst I care.
In other news, you're a cock.

    Why, thank you my dear.

Given that you are a self-confessed homophobe and misogynist, I am actually really grateful you said this. As you're wrong about everything else, it therefore follows that all right-thinking individuals think I'm great. Which is what we all knew anyway.
    Bit of a generalisation?

    Nah, something said in jest.

I'm at The University of Manchester doing BSc Biology - I think most courses at Manchester Uni have a reading week.

It isn't only "shite" Uni's that have them, nor are they restricted to Arts courses.

By the way Manchester Met is not part of The University of Manchester.

UMIST merged with Manchester Uni forming the largest campus, Manchester Metropolitan is a seperate entity entirely.

Kermit, most people studying Law don't get reading weeks.

I didn't just study law, and I tended to socialise more with the history, politics and philosophy people.

I never came across them, but that doesn't mean they don't exist.

They certainly appear to be far more in vogue now than they used to be, particularly at universities with longer terms. Durham's terms are only nine weeks, where at many other unis the terms are twelve.

They also seem to be more in vogue because it allows the tutors to cram in a week's research.

No; Manchester Met has not joined with Manchester Uni - UMIST has.

Together both Unis (Man Met and Man Uni) make Manchester the largest density of students in the population.

Man Met and Man Uni has different entry requirements because they are two different Universities. There were three Unis - Man Met, UMIST and Man Uni, and now there are two. Man Met, and The University of Manchester.

and yes the majority of people that I have spoken to in person have said that, but then they went to top uni's and would naturally find anything easy.

No, my dearest brother is correct, you said the majority, not 2 out of the 3 people you know who have taken a mickey mouse course say it's easier than a-levels. Just accept you're wrong.
