I'm 20 - Earn 10K a year at a Film Company and £5ph, about 4 nights at a Spanish Tapas Bar and they get over £600 tips a week. Not enough money and paying off my car. Going to start selling prints and artwork aside.

Then again, would you like to be a fat and greedy corpo, driving a Merc, liking work too much?

There isnt a minimum wage for 16 year olds is there?

I mean thats just extorninate, but i cant get a job anywhere else because of college, and the available hours i can work.
• Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
nope theres no minimum wage for 16 year olds, which i think is wrong cos they could get away with paying some one 10p an hour.

I'm 35 and I'm self-employed.

I charge my clients £100 per hour for my time, but I have to do a lot of extra time on research and keeping my services upto scratch that is unpaid, as are my holidays.

I've recently opened a new business in addition to my consultancy business, which should really increase my actual income to well over £100k per annum if all goes according to plan.

That's a little unusual of course, but I was lucky enough to break into a very specialised field of expertise at just the right time.

Thing is though, it has never been the money for me. I really love my job and the work it involves.

lol i see a bit of advertisement going on

£100 an hour? What actually do you do to earn this kind of money? Is this £100 an hour constant, or do you do a couple of hours a day tops?

£4.30 an hour is a great wage for a 15 year old, but thankfully, i got off my ass and went into town to the casino, they pay £4.50 for waiting, plus tips, its gonna be kinda good working at a casino for tips hey

Unless their losers, most likely will be the case.

Oh yeah, i just read your post again blacky Are you in the male porn industry or something? Or an escort?

I'm 26 and recently promoted to a Legal Executive. I earn 30K per annum with an annual increase of £1,000... but I'm in the land of the Euro so I actually earn €38,092.14. The Euro is a farce.. it's monopoly money

Definitely no advertising here.

What I actually do mostly is consulting, just advising and helping businesses who want to succeed on the internet.

The £100 an hour is certainly not constant (unfortunately). One week I may earn a good few thousand, then the next few weeks may all be spent in writing business proposals to get more work, which is hours of research and typing that only pay off if I get the contract.

At the moment I earn nothing but was talking to my mate last night about getting jobs in Spearmint Rhino, £500 a night....kind of tempted but then not really. I think to work for minimum wage is a joke, slaving away for £4 an hour (if you're lucky that is, as some places don't even pay that for under 21's), then go out and get one drink and a bag of crisps for that.

I used to be IT Systems Support for a company in England earning about 12k a year, that was when I was 18 and 19.

Over here I'm in a temporary sales job on about $9.10 an hour (5500 pounds a year) which bear in mind is NZ standards and is basic for people my age...

I'm about to move over to a IT postition to earn about $45k (15.5k pounds) a year, which is a very good salary for the working person in NZ
