My results were much better than expected. I got a B in music, B in sociology, D in media studies and a D in general studies (wasn't even expecting that much for general studies :p).

University of Hull, here I come. :D

I got ABB woot - I'm in to Exeter.

Mind you, I was all nervous this morning, noticed a ucas letter on the tele, opened it , big bunch of leaflets and then a letter saying "Congratulations you have been firmly accepted for the above institution" so...I already knew I was ok...!!

Haha, gotta be the worst here with D,E,U,U :p

Although speaking to a teacher in the pub afterwards, the majority of my computing teacher's class got U grades. The D was a shock, as it was in a subject i don't understand too well, and the E was understandable. As was the other U.

Still happy with my results, as bad as they may be :D

Congratulations for everyone who did well on their A/ AS levels. Since doing mine i have finished a degree, but i still think my A-Levels were the hardest courses of my life! You all deserve a medal and don't let anyone tell you, you only passed because the exams are getting easy. They've been saying the same thing for years now, what do they know?

Maybe they're saying the same thing because every year they get easier? :p

I felt so sorry for one of my friends who works so hard but just didnt get the grades. She wants to be a dentist, so needs practically straight As, but in science/maths she got EDDC, yet in graphics a subject she loves (but not what she wants to go into) she got an A.

I dunno, makes me think. Is it wise to get fixated on a career route, or best to just do what we enjoy? I enjoy maths, and I do best in maths, but I don't actually know what I want to do... (except more maths :p)

There's crap and there's crap. IT depends on what you expected, and whether that was a realistic expectation.

For those who didnt do that well, I only got one D, that was it.

My advice is do what I did, blag your way onto an HND (easy enough, some uni's will take anyone) then after that transfer to the degree, you can often go onto the third year of that and you havent lost any time.

    Just a thought.

If you're at all disappointed with your results and still determined to go to uni, I know of a lad who passed only one a-level with an E grade and he got in through clearing. Towards the end many universities are just desperate to fill their places up before the start of term.

    could you go through clearing?

i did a 3rd year at college so i could get the grades, and it was worth it in the end. 1 year isn't much in the great scheme of things.

Yeh Kermit I know. Basically I was after three Cs and I got three Ds. I didnt miss the Cs by very much. (My breakdown for my modules was English Literature - C,C,C,C,D,U French - B,B,C,C,E,U and German- C,C,C,C,U,U, )I did infact get accepted by my insurance except I don't wanna go there. However I phoned them and they should be releasing me and I can go to Manchester Met Uni. Or I might do a few resits. I dont know. A bit all over the place atm

Heh, I'm going in a few days but don't qualify for the free entry, you need to fail everything for that! :p

I suppose I'll just have to use my season pass instead. :D
