connecting 2 pc's to the internet

is it possible for me to do this through one connection?

i am on wanadoo and use a speedtouch modem.

would it work if i got another modem?

or you can have the internet on one computer, and the other computer connected to that via crossover cable

what about if i purchased a wanadoo Livebox modem? would i be able to connect my laptop and my pc through the Livebox? if not would i be able to carry on running my pc connection through my wanadoo modem but simply add the Livebox aswell so that i can connect to the internet through my laptop whilst also on the net through my pc?
