Did anyone watch the programme ''middle sex'' last night???
If not then it was all about the studies into why people are gay/bi/transgender etc
And on 1 part of the programme, they did an investigation on homophobic and non homophobic men.....anyway they stuck them in a room, had this device thing round their bits to measure how aroused they were and stuck a gay porn video on.
It turns out that nearly all of the homophobic men actually got aroused by the video and there was little or no change in the non homophobics......
So maybe they're hiding something???

Just thought it was quite interesting and wondered what you guys would make of it....?

Yes it's been proven that more often than not homophobic men have a tendancy to be a bit gay themselves and in denial or scared about it.

Shouldn't this be in entertainment?

You can download it and watch it when shes not near you if that helps lol. But whats funny is doesn't matter how non-homosexual you are you can still be aroused by a gay man. If a gay man (assuming he was strong) forcefully tied you up in a chair and then starting perfoming oral and stuff -- I am quite sure he would get even the most religious pastor to become aroused while mentally the pastor would do the best he could to revert back to scriptures and how wrong this is.

i think homophobes are a joke. gay people are just people. and i think that homosexuality is perfectly normal. if its been around since biblical times, then we can see how long in history its been around. its people that just put a taboo about it in the past and continued on till now. just like every other thing not natural in the world. laws, clothing, cars.

The one thing I've never liked, however slightly unrelated it is, is the fact that gay men are frowned upon by a large amount of the population, and lesbians more often than not aren't because it "turns straight men on". I'm not saying lesbians should get it bad or anything, but it's pretty small minded when you get homophobic minded guys who like lesbians...

very true....i know it turns alot of straight guys on to see 2 girls make out cause its 'sexy' - my dads got a mate whos extremly homophobic and i remember us all being round there, and i was playing dare with my brother, his 2 sons and his 2 step-kids. And his youngest sons dare was to dress up in his step sisters clothes (he was about 9 at the time) and to go downstairs and show all the adults - cause we knew they'd find it funny. But my dads mate blew his top.....he told him to go straight back upstairs and take it all off, he really has something against gays and any kind of gay behaviour. I have no idea why. They're just like any normal people, theyre just attracted to the same sex? So what??? They're not hurting anything. Some of the worlds biggest stars are gay eg elton john, george michael.....would they tell them to their face that they hated them for being gay?

I'm sure I answered this in another thread or something earlier. From personal experience I don't know any women who are turned on by men kissing, however Hunnypot on here did, and someone from my school did so it's not unheard of.

didn't watch it. i think programmes like that are shit anyway. yes, some people will be in denial about their sexuality... but so what?! its programmes like that which encourage stereotypes - esp. if people believe a closed study like that is true for all. then again what else was on the video? - it could have been anything on the video that turned them on, or a split second thought in their mind which they were responding to, or anything? - what were the controls??? anyway, human sexuality is such a fucking huge thing... very hard to classify as a stereotype in reality.

I'm a gay man, but iI've no problem with seeing straight or lesbian sex on TV. It's not for me, but to each their own. Never ceases to amaze me how some blokes can say with one breath they think 'gay sex' is disgusting, and then with the next confess to finding lesbians a turn-on. It's so illogical. Homosexuality is homosexuality, male or female.

As for the point of the thread, I think this TV programme made a big play of stating the bleedin' obvious. That thing about homophobes getting aroused by gay porn is very old research. Besides, it's pretty damned obvious that a lot of homophobes protest far too much. I know I did, before I came out...
