Can anyone tell me the the last recorded tax figures, please? (For the "UK")
And I would also like the population of england to the nearest million, if that's no trouble.
Let's play and have "sum" fun!

It could well be.
I thought it would be fun/instructional for both out socialist and capitalist posters to see exactly how much we are talking about from their own unique perspectives, Left wingers will fucking feint when they see how much each person could have if fairly doled out, and right wingers will need CPR at how much just fucks off into nothingness.
i'm pretty aware of that fact but the exact figure probably would be shocking...
49 million peple in England.
Tax reciepts aout 400 bln, spending about 450?
My maths is shaky..... how much is that per capita?
About 10k per UK citizen. It varies wildly in different regions though. I'll dig out some statistics.
Expenditure for 2004-5 2005-6 2006-7 and 2007-8 respectivly.
in 2004-5 £8126.66 a person (assuming 60m people in the UK) is spent.
oh dear Gordon. What was that about fiscally sound budgets you mentioned in your election campaign?
Bear in mind that these are the "tax" figures, but isn't £8126.66 a person a bit fucking steep for what we actually get?
I mean, given that the "lower" classes don't earn this much and the "upper" classes don't pay this much, which poor sods are getting squeezed for it all?
Add on to this the bunch of folk who have billions/millions what are we looking at for the "man in the street"?
These are expenditure plans not tax reciepts. Tax revenue is lower. I can't find statistics at the moment the treasury site is a pain.
Alot of the increases have come from pensions, NI and capital gains. The rich have specifically not been taxed extra by Brown as he needs to be cosy with them, which is why NI was raised. In the 40% tax bracket you do not pay NI.
A small amount probably goes on servicing public debt also, debt which Brown is merrily increasing each year.
You get more than £90,000's worth from the "government" every year?
Nice one. How though?
Let's be an asshole and go through it a bit at a time -
Facts presented with outside sources - 0.
Proof that there is a UK - 0
Use of nominalisation - lots
Relevacne to thread - debatable
9 grand doesn't seem like that much. I heard recently that the british public spend something like 40bln on chocolate a year, and all you get from that is fat.
How can there be? The idea is ridiculous.
Not at all. I just wanted some kind of clarity about the whole issue of taxation using numbers for a change.
Does the taxation figure include all the cash from licences, like the TV licence and the drivers licence and stuff like parking fines and that kind of thing?
I read a report a few years ago(can`t remember where ) in which the author had done,it seemed, intense number crunching.Taking into account the "little things"(many of which aren`t so little),some of which you bring up here. The final figure arrived at was in excess of 70% of the "average" earnings of the "average earner".
seeker
Oh dear.
Trust me, you don't want to go there.
'klintock is on your ignore list'
Am I missing something here?
No... or if you are I'm missing it too.
There may be an argument for that (though imho a false one), but Klintock isn't saying countries are bad - he is saying they do not exist. As that is so obviously false and is brought up at randomn times and when other things are being discussed its not really helpful to most debates.
i don't know why myself but i can see where klintock is coming from in all his arguments...i just don't think they're good one's though...
