I don't quite understand...?

Hey,
I have a little question. Some of you more experienced people may be able to help me with. When you have sex and u use a condom, it protects u from getting pregnant and from STIs. But the Pill also stops you from getting pregnant. So if you know that your partner has no STIs or whatever, then is it okay to have sex without a condom? Coz that way there's no condom and no babies...or is it safer to just use both?
Did that make sense? Thanx ^_^

Talos...how do u know they don't have STD's? U can both get tested but people cheat, how do u know that a while later they won't cheat and catch one that way? It's safer to use both, especially when your young and ppl tend to change partners more often.

But you could be in a 100% trusting relationship, in which case pregnancy is all u have to worry about. The pill is very effective when used properly, but doesn't protect from STD's.

Is there such a thing as an 100% trust? Moi? been hurt in the past? Surely not!!

Be careful. I thought I'd found the perfect man, we stopped using condoms cos I'm on the pill. Turns out he was screwing half of Britain in his spare time!! I was lucky not to catch anything...VERY lucky.

    Take care!

If you are 100% certain that your partner has no STIs, then using the pill alone is an option...although if, in the unfortunate instance that you or you partner are sleeping with other people, you are laying each other at risk to STIs.
The pill is effective most of the time providing it is taken correctly - ie at the same time each day...and the person taking it is not ill or on antibiotics. More info here http://www.thesite.org/sex/pregnancy/combined_pill.html
    and here: http://www.thesite.org/sex/pregnancy/progestogen_only_pill.html
In any of the above cases, using both the pill and condoms is the safest option.
    Hope this helps

yeah, don't be embarrassed. They've seen it all a hundred times B4! And ask all the questions u want. Like Susie says, when used properly, it's great, but if you miss one, follow the instructions on the packet and use extra protection liek a condom for as long as it says u need to. Mine is 7 days if I miss one, but other brands could be different.

I set mine beside my bed and take one B4 sleep so I remember. Some ppl prefer to take it first thing in the morning - my friend keeps hers beside her toothpaste, but then we don't live with our parents <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/biggrin.gif">

Antmore questions, give me a shout!
