Hi guys
Many of you will have heard of SANELINE, the excellent telephone helpline for anyone affected by mental health problems. They are heavily involved with TheSite.org, both helping us with content and answering the mental health questions in our askTheSite service. Anyhow, please read this message from them and click on the link at the bottom to add your name to the petition - they need as many names as they can get! Cheers :thumb:

"SANELINE is committed to providing accurate and up-to-date information to give callers options for action and encourage them to benefit from whatever network of care exists in their own area. It also offers emotional and crisis support to people with mental health problems, their families and friends as well as offering information to professionals and organisations working in the mental health field.

Due to late payment by the Department of Health on a contract to provide the SANELINE service and non-renewal of funds, we have, for the present, had to reduce our opening hours. SANELINE is now open Monday to Friday from 12noon to 11pm; and on weekends from 12noon to 6pm. We will be launching an emergency appeal and if you would like to make a donation in support of the helpline please call 020 7422 5544.

Alternatively, you can sign a petition by clicking here, which will be delivered to the Prime Minister and the incoming Secretary of State for Health. All signatures need to be collected by 27th May 2005.

You can find more information about SANE and SANELINE on our website at www.sane.org.uk "
