As i'm 19 now do i have to pay for them even if im a full-time student?

You need to apply for the low income scheme. You can get a form called HC1 from your student union or this link . The number to call for advice is 0845 850 1166.

thanks! its got a whole list of things on the back that you can tick to get it free but none of them seem to apply so i'll do that!
does anyone know roughly how much it costs? or does it depend what your prescriptions for?

Prescriptions are £6.50.

If successful, you'll get an exemption certificate (which is one of the options on the back of the form) and prescriptions will be completely free.

hmm i just thought you ticked a box on the back for student. my friend had to take a letter from the uni to show she was studying there

in wales its free for under 25

im 20 and in full time education, and filled in one of the forms, but somehow they think ive got enough money to buy my prescriptions. even though i dont have a part-time job, and no money :rolleyes:

you're very unlucky then cos i got the HC2 form so did loads of my friends.
