    At least 2 litres.

You'd have to drink about 140 litres to give yourself a problem. Unless you have a kidney problem of course.

2 litres. I drank 4 for a laugh the other week. *worried about self*

Like with anything though, too much of it won't be good for you.

i drink so much water its unbelivable

drunk about 8 litres in 10 minutes last year and got so dizzy, it can kill you if you drink loads, think it dilutes the electrodes in your blood or something

No, your brain swells up because the body can't absorb too much water: the water dilutes the blood. This causes 'Water Intoxication', which can put you in a coma, and you'll eventually die.

Incidentally, this is how Leia Betts died. She thought drinking water would stop the effects of E. It doesn't. She drank too much in too short a space of time, and caused the above to happen.

No wonder you felt dizzy. The amount of water in the body to start being dangerous starts at about 3 litres, if I recall correctly.

To be fair, everyone's different - hence I said 'about 3 litres'. But yes, drinking too much water is not good for you.

    There's always one, eh? ;)

    i can't drink the stuff.
    it's against my religion.
my religion does allow me to drink it if it has been brewed into beer.
    mixed with whiskey.
but it is written ...'and god made water so man could wash himself and things ...he sent his only begotten son to show you dummies how to turn it into alcohol'.
...and still they wont repent ...eth.

I think I read a study that said that 2 litres a day was not necessary. It was done with twins, one drunk 2 litres a day and the other under 1 litre and they did a test to see if it had any effects....

I will see if I can find it.....

I'd be surprised if there were no effects. A 4% dehydration can cause a 20% loss in concentration I read.

2 litres a day, remember you need to get the necessary salts and sugars though.

If its totally and completely pure clear then maybe you're drinking a bit much. Its a simple system.

Sorry...don't want to be too much of a pedant, but it doesn't alter the PH. It dilutes your blood too much. See this bit for more.

No offence intended, of course, but misinformation is dangerous. :)
