If you're going to UCL you need to pop along to the Health Centre but you'll get all the info when you arrive. Don't know about all the other unis but I think it's pretty standard that they tell you where to register and you go do it yourself.

they usually have a big drive during freshers week to get people registered with the uni docs. they usually make leaflets available telling you the local nhs dentists in the area but its very hard to get in to be honest...u may be better staying with your current dentist and arranging your appointments during the holidays, unless you have alot of mouth problems.

financially, you can get a form from the doctors surgery(called an HC something or other) and send it off and they assess whether you are entitled to extra help or not.

this is just mine and a couple of others experience...it could be different in different places of course.

Yeah there's an HC1 form which you can fill in which entitles you to things like free perscriptions and other medical things. The conditions arn't very strict so most people will be entitled to extra support. You can also claim back money from previous medical expenses using a HC2 (or it could be HC5).

Getting into a doctors is normally relatively easy, the uni will have a surgury which they are tied too and a GP who will see you.

As others have mentioned dentists are something quite different, especially in London.

Moving to London for uni can be a little daunting, a lot of uni's here dont have a campus as such, which can make meeting others harder. Just make sure to attend all the Freshers week stuff, even if you arent really interested.

It was part of our terms and conditions of enrolment at uni. We couldn't enrol until we had signed up with the Uni's GP Surgery. The Surgery then gave us a slip confirming we had signed up and we could enrol.

Everyone is in the same boat when you go to uni, most of them wont have lived away from home before, they will be new to the area and will be looking to meet new people.

It might not come easy to you but its definately in your interest to go out there, join clubs, socialise, force yourself on people if you have to.

Its not always a good thing to know someone else, you tend to just then stick with them, a clean break will force you to socialise with loads of new people.

Freshers week is really the only time you can meet people easily who arent on your course, take that chance, the people on my course were dullards so I socialised with people from other courses.

Mate, you're bright enough to go to uni, you should be bright enough not to need to use text talk.

Fair enough, but stop it, because it's annoying.
