Wisdom Tooth - Nerve damage

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
On the waiting list for wisdom tooth removal once again

Dentist was charging £150 which was acceptable however he recommended I goto hospital as a nerve was really close to the tooth and could cause nerve damage.

i have looked up on the net and this seems a standard warning, altho he did say mine was *even* closer than normal

anyone ever suffered such damage - care to describe what its like?
what are the chances of it happening?

also how/when will they know if its permananent (thing that scares me most)

cheers
