My blood test results...

Rang the doc this morning.

Apparently one or two of my kidney things are slightly raised (and I only have one kidney so this is slightly worrying me...) But forgot to ask what they were called so I could look them up... anyway they're going to have to re-do my blood test to sort to double check... Oh woopitydoodar!

Also I have slightly raised heamoglobin levels  Anyone know what that would mean??? And they're going to re-do that test as well. What fun!!!!

And then I have to go back and see her 4 days after those blood tests.

Bit pissed off they didn't find anything that would cause endless twtiching and cramps and muscle aches so I supose they'll have to try and work that one out another way now.

Been getting loads of abdominal pain even though I've been taking the pill back to back since january as well so that's pissing me off too... especially as it makes my back and legs hurt as well. grrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Feel like I'm falling to bits :crying:

maybe your abdominal pains are coz you have been taking your pill back to back? i know itswhat you have been told to do coz of your condition but some people on here have said back2back = horrendous period ?? do you think its a possibility?

sorry to hear you'vegot to go through all that again xx

I was told by my gynae that taking it back to back should mean I don't get pain during the month... but I took 3 packets back to back the first time and felt like I was dying when I came on... my mum nearly took me to hospital. That wasn't suposed to happen, it should have made my period more bareable, but I think possibly they don't really have a clue what they're talking about when they tell women to take it back to back. The only thing I can say is it's such a relief to only have a period every so often instead of every month. Anyway, when I finish my next pack and take a break I'll have seen my endo specialist and hopefully have a date for a laparoscopy by then so it'll be more bareable. :thumb:

The level of haemoglobin in blood is widely used to indicate anaemia due to blood loss, a deficiency of iron, vitamin B12 or folic acid, or a failure to produce red cells.
So basically, your fine with that. If it was low, it would mean your anaemic.

They've tested me for anaemia god knows how many times and never found anything...

Wonder what raised haemoglobin means though... probably nothing. :chin:

The kidney produces a hormone called erythropoeitin and this stimulates the production of red blood cells [called polycythaemia] and as a result increases the haemoglobin level in the blood. From what you have said it seems that the doc is tryong to determine if you kidney is over producing the hormone and what is causing it.

Polycythaemia also causes the spleen to enlarge - and you have abdo pain?!?!

See what the blood tests show and listen to what your doc says.

*Melodie - useful info but not relevant to increased haemoglobin. Too little haemoglobin is detrimental but so is too much :D
