Comedown cures

I while ago I posted some info on how certain foods (marmaite & bananas) help replenish seratonin. I couldn't remember why so people found it hard to believe but after a bit of research I am more informed!

Taking ecstasy can be a rewarding pastime, but is not without it's pitfalls. When MDMA affects you're gey matter, it causes your seratonin neurone receptors to spunk out more seratonin than they usually do. The problem is that these neurones get damaged with repeated use (debatable) and you end up feeling like shit. While scaremongers say that this is very bad news, that you'll be depressed in middle age etc., there are some preventative measures you can tke to soften the blows to your eggshell mind.

First eat lots of bananas as a day-to-day rule. They contain potassium, which aids your body in the natural production of seratonin.

Mackeral, or any other fish rich in Omega 3 oils are also a winner. They keep your heart in good shape and strengthen your neurones, as well as incraesing your virility for any post clubbing marathon wanks you might have.

Not only does it taste great on toast - Marmite is another great antidote. It contains and amino acid, tryptophan, which is one of the componets used by the brain in the manafacture of seratonin.

Aside from that you can pump yourself full of Bach Rescue Remedy, zinc tablets and Vitamin C. Or sack this healthy tackle off and take two Nytol Max strength washed down with a bottle of Vodka and deal with manic depression if and when it happens.

    Yea Ive heard lots of things about how to help your comedown but I still think the best is orange juice, it really bring u down which is why u shouldnt drink it when u r wanting to get up lmfao.

    Anyway well done for posting a topic on here, its been really dead lately. Ive been wanting to liven it up but never thought of anything to write lmfao! I could hoever write a number of things about my current situation with drugs but I think Ill leave that for live journal, tee hee!

    I'm going to follow on from Skive and lolly cause like them both I also see the importance of research in what your doing to your body....

    When MDMA affects you're gey matter, it causes your seratonin neurone receptors to spunk out more seratonin than they usually do.

    MDMA's main effect is to release all the brains storage of seratonin at once, this is basically done by the MDMA telling the receptors to open the doors wide so all the seratonin is released. Thats why people on prozac often don't get as much feeling when taking ecstasy as prozac counteracts this process.

    The problem is that these neurones get damaged with repeated use (debatable) and you end up feeling like shit.

    Its true these neurones are damaged as MDMA bridges the gap for the seratonin to escape, these neurones do repair themselves but they grow back differently which is one of the arguements on what effect this actually has on the brains function. The other problem we have is that the brains storage of seratonin becomes empty and in effect takes up to two weeks to replenish its supply, there are arguements suggesting that repeated seratonin depleation could affect its production in later life leading to depression.

    While scaremongers say that this is very bad news, that you'll be depressed in middle age etc.,

    However the evidence for this is based on MDMA testing with regards to mice and there is as current no evidence to support this reaction in humans.

    As skive says, ensure that you maintain a healthy diet and eat plenty of fruit and vegetables... One of the main problems with regular ecstasy users is that each weekend they depleat their bodies resources of vitamins and minerals by not eating properly, this over long periods of time can cause nutrional deficiency and affect a persons day-to-day activities.

    As for comedown cures, its common fact regardless of what you do that what goes up must come down, my main piece of advice continues off from what Lolly and Skive have said, drink plenty of fruit juices and eat properly..

    ... if you wish to do that little bit extra I'd suggest purchasing yourself a supply of 5HTP supplements from any health shop, these supplements are the bodies natural ingredient which produce seratonin and work every effectivly if you take them over a 3 day period (2 night being when you go out) and can effectivly half your comedown along with enhancing your pill.
