Ecstasy

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
Recently some of my pals have been hanging around with some older kids who go to my school who also take E's. As far as I know they haven't taken any yet but I saw one guy down the park who I know and his lips were purple and his eyes looked totally dead, like slits with really massive pupils. I thought he had gone goth for a second, his skin was really white and the look in his eyes was quite scary.

I've drawn the conclusion that drugs may make you feel good but don't really make you look good.

But should I worry about my friends, should I help them stay away from drugs or should I let them make their mind up.

Whatever it is that they're doing, it's obviously not healthy for them!

You can't stop your friends from doing drugs, it's their choice, and their choice alone. You can, however, refuse to support their drug use, and make your views very clear. It's important to make them realize that you're concerned about them and are worried about their health, but don't tell them they're bad people or you don't like them any more, etc.

I've dated 2 different guys who are heroin addicts, it's a really scary thing to be close to someone who is hurting themselves through drugs. All I could do was let them know how I felt, but also let them know that I was there for them, no matter what, if they did drugs or not.

An eye for an eye makes the world blind.

I avoided drugs till I was 28 & could make more rational descisions about what to play with. I enjoy them in moderation for dance parties but am very limited with my intake ususally 1 pill & a couple of small bumps of K over a 10 hour period is enough for me.

I don't think anyone under 21 at least is capable of making a good or controlled choice about drugs & are usually uninformed about the repercussions on their bodies & minds.

because I waited till I was older & reasearched the effects & only play with small amounts on infrequent occasions I don't suffer a lot of the adverse side affects, my advice is wait till your older enjoy the energy & vitality you have in your youth & wait till you get older & need a little pick me up to keep going at a dance party.

Not at all. When you're young you have less responsibilities. When I'm older I wan't to settle down a bit. Get married, kids and all that crap. I don't wan't to be popping pills when I've got kids.

As for ppl under the age of 21 not being able to make a rational decision, well in my mind that's bollocks. Most kids nowadays know more about drugs than their parents cause they've grown up with it. Most people my age and younger know that most of the stuff they are taught at their schools and by their parents is crap. They know that ecstasy isn't a killer and it's safer than eating a peanut.

I started raving and doing pills in the early 90's when I was about 14 and I knew full well what I was doing (although now I do believe that was a bit young). If you can start smoking or have sex when you're sixteen then why can't you start using drugs. Most drugs are pretty harmless when used in moderation and there's a lot more things that could do them more damage such as getting pregnant.

I believe the time to have fun is when you're young. Live life for the moment, cause for all you know you may die tommorow.

They might die but it's probably more related to dehydration or heat stroke because they are too dumb to take a rest and sip on water.

or they drink too much, have a weak heart, bad kidneys/liver or indeed are alergic to it...

Still in comparison, very safe if used sensibly

You're more likely to get killed going out on the piss. Does it honestly seem right to you that alcohol is legal and ecstasy isn't? Not only that but shouldn't people have the right to choose what they want to do to themselves?

It's legal to have unprotected sex with a stranger and risk catching aids or any other STD at the age of 16, but it's illegal to swallow a tablet that has a 1 in something-million chance of killing you however old and responsible you are.

Just dosn't seem right to me!

What was the official cause of death?

    Wasn't Inter-Cranial Pressure was it?

i dont think there was an official cause of death coz he only almost died

how are you more likely to get killed going out on the piss? i spose if you include drink driving then yeah.... i thought alcohol had a more long term effect, liver damage, cirrhosis, etc etc rather than instantly causing death?

Along with alcohols long term effects there are other dangers. Most violent crimes happen in a drunken enviroment. Alcoholic poisoning although rare is just as likeley to kill ppl as an ecstasy pill. Many more accidents happen when ppl are drunk. It's the same for a lot of drugs. In moderation most of them are fine and you've got to be as responsible with alcohol as ecstasy, if not more.

It's more dangerous travelling in a car than swallowing an E.
