The fact that many American students can't locate Iraq on a map has been often been cited as evidence of their nation's stupidity.
Many Japanese students can't locate their neighbour, North Korea, on a map either, it must be a trans-cultural phenomenon that all students find geography boring. Not that American kiddies are thick.
