    Why is your face swollen?

If it's allergic, you could try an antihistamine. If it's traumatic, you could try an NSAID like ibuprofen.

I had an operation on my jaw last monday. I got tablets from the doctor but they don't seem to be working.

That's an NSAID, and a strong one, and should help the swelling. Give it time. :)

Good point, I should've said that.

If you're in pain, you can try paracetamol. If it's just swelling then you'll just have to wait for your body to deal with the trauma of surgery on its own.
