What Was The Last Thing You Volunteered To Do?

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
I just volunteered to become the organiser of a group with 227 members :eek2:

I was actually deleting my membership at the time and saw they had no organiser and over 200 members so thought I'd have a go for a bit.

ooh tell me more, tell us all about it, im very curious now

last thing i volunteered and/or goaded into doing was helping run site services for a scout camp with a thousand people on or something like that

not just take part in various parts of site services, actually make sure it runs, argh!

I gave blood, in like an official organisational sense.
I helped finalists revise in an insane 'why am I still up doing psycology sense'

To go to work yeah, but for no reason any sane person would? To get up, just so your friend KNOWS you're up? I mean, really?

    I do.

I get up so early during the week that I find it almost impossible to lie in on a weekend.

    Dude, can I clarify AGAIN.
I'm a student, so no family to worry about
I've finished my exams, so no revision to worry about
Semester 2 hasn't started yet, so no lectures or coursework to worry about

Then your question should be "who gets up at 6am when they don't have to?".
To which the answer is not many.

You asked who gets up at 6am, the fact that you don't have to didnt come into the question.

Last thing I volunteered to do was run a local mothers and toddlers group. I did it for 4 months, quite enjoyed it but it was quite a lot of work considering no renumeration.

I volenteered at a local charity to do care work for disabled kids on a holiday play scheme. Not been there for a while. Ooh which reminds me, I really should call them...
