Government Health Warning?

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
I was flicking round teletext news the other day and read an article about this £1.5m campaign by the government to discourage young revellers from using coke and Es this New Year's Eve. And what was the sombre message to get them to stop using drugs? "You might get heart trouble"! Big fucking deal! You're bound to get "heart trouble" from a hundred other ways in life. Doesn't it show that they just aint gotta clue.
Happy New Year to all my E mates. Hope you have a good 'un coz me and my partner are gonna be off our tits for the start of 2002

Well it took 'em long enough to put serious warnings on the side of cigarette packs, mind you they get a lot of £'s outta that, and it's not as if that works either. I mean the day after they were released I didn't suddenly read it and say "My God!! Really?? I thought they were full of vitamins, minerals and marrowbone jelly!!". Why don't they just say "Look, it's more than likely that you won't die, but seeing as there's absolutely no way to tell what's in it, maybe you will. Who knows eh??"

    Yes, it was me.

To be honest most of that money is gonna be wasted. I for one am very sceptical of anything the government says simply because of all the bullshit they've produced in the past.

Ol' Rubberskin is right, I've also heard that there is going to be a crack down on coke and E's over Christmas. I heard this in Liverpool, so keep ur eyes peeled folks, have a good time and don't get pinched!
