As far as I know smoking only works to reduce your appetite, but doesn't actually reduce your weight as far as I know. Could it be co-incidence?? Started any work out regimes recently??

Beats me then. Maybe because you feel hungry less, the times you do feel hungry are more prominant in your mind?? I know that's lame but there we go...........

right, so smoke is all full of tar and nicotine. nicotine can sometimes be a hunger supressant, but i guess that doesnt always work. the tar clogs up ure lung and artery pipe thingy's, so ure heart has to work a lot harder to pump the oxygen around ure body, thus increasing ure metabolism rate so u burn more energy and lose weight? ]
wel it makes sense to me anyway...
Of course that's not what you meant, but it's one outcome of smoking that will keep your weight down.
I am an ex-smoker. I've been 'clean' for three years an I understand just what you really meant. I actually put weight on when I quit. That was because I used to snack, just for something to do. Smoking is an appetite suppresant, but it's better to be slightly overwight than riddled with cancer.
please bear in mind that losing weight is very rarely a good thing.

try telling my (ex) gf that!

size 14 is the best size imho. any smaller and you risk being skinny.
you hadn't offended me I was just making the point about death being a way of losing weight from smoking.
Like I said - exsmoker so I've been there and giving up meant I put on a few pounds.
You can lose weight - but it's harder to lose a tumour.

You will put on weight when you give up smoking but will soon lose it again ... think of the long term benefits like money in the bank and nice teeth. If you get depressed, treat yourself with the money you haven't wasted on fags. And if you feel bad now, think how much worse you will feel when you have started smoking again after you got this far! You deserve better - keep it up!!
This is also why people tend to put on weight when they quit, they get the appestat back and also replace fags with food.
unlike other teenagers, who regularly spend there spare money on rubbish or at MaccyD's, my friends save there money to buy fags, so therefore eat less.(?)
I know its not a good theory, but it is true!
Sorry to be cruel. From personal experience smoking does make U less hungry, but is not ideal if you are trying to lose weight, try WILLPOWER. (says me!)
So I'll give you a tip: Read this newbie manners guide, it helps not to get the regular members annoyed at you <IMG alt="image" alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/wink.gif"> No one's shouted at me yet so I must be doing something right <IMG alt="image" alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/biggrin.gif">
